The Best One-Day Utah Adventure for Any Couple
I have lived in Utah for 30 years…and somehow never knew this place existed.
Kamas is a small town a couple hours from Salt Lake, and it’s the gateway to one of the prettiest drives in the state. This trip only takes an afternoon, and it’s beautiful from start to finish. It’s perfect for couples, empty nesters, families, or a fun day with friends.

Stop 1: Rent a Slingshot from Uinta Adventures
Start your day by picking up a Polaris Slingshot from Uinta Adventures in Kamas. We rented ours for 2 hours, which was the perfect amount of time for the drive and a stop at the falls.

Stop 2: Road trip snacks at Ballerina Farm
Before you hit the highway, stop by the Ballerina Farm store for snacks. The cheese curds and fresh sourdough bread are our favorites.
Stop 3: Drive Mirror Lake Highway
From Kamas, drive 24 miles east on Mirror Lake Highway. This is the part where you understand why you rented the Slingshot instead of driving your own car.
Stop 4: Explore Provo River Falls
Pull over at Provo River Falls and take some time to explore. The river drops over three waterfalls and several beautiful cascades, and it really is one of Utah’s hidden gems.
Stop 5: Dinner at Olive Press Cafe in Midway
Drop off your Slingshot and head to Midway to finish the evening at Olive Press Cafe. It’s owned by my dear friend Sarah from The Dainty Pear, and my cousin Eric is the head chef. He’s one of the most talented people I know.
