We’ve never stayed anywhere like this. Outpost X in southern Utah feels like you’ve landed somewhere completely out of this world. From cave-style villas and futuristic domes to cruising across the desert in sand cruisers, every part of this stay feels like stepping into a sci-fi movie.

What Is Outpost X?
Outpost X is a one-of-a-kind desert stay in southern Utah with cave-style villas, futuristic domes, and sand cruisers for exploring the desert. It’s the kind of place where the stay itself is the whole adventure. @outpost.x
Where We Stayed: The 2-Bedroom Cave Lux
We stayed in the 2-bedroom Cave Lux, and it was the perfect setup for a couple or a family.
The domes looked incredible too, and I already know that’s what we’re booking next time.
Cruising the Desert in Sand Cruisers
Getting around the desert in sand cruisers is half the fun. Every turn feels like a scene from a sci-fi movie, and it is such a fun way to take in the red rock landscape.
A Stocked Fridge (Our Favorite Surprise!)
One of our favorite surprises was having our fridge stocked with delicious, ready-to-make meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It’s an optional add-on, or you can bring your own food if you prefer.
After a day in the desert, not having to figure out dinner was worth every penny.
Desert Sunsets and Star-Filled Skies
But the best part? Watching the sunset over the desert and ending the night beneath one of the most incredible star-filled skies we’ve ever seen. It was absolutely breathtaking.

Tips for Planning Your Outpost X Stay
- Pick your space based on your crew. The 2-bedroom Cave Lux works great for a couple or a family. Want something different? Check out the domes.
- Add on the meal package. Having breakfast, lunch and dinner ready to go means more time enjoying the desert and less time planning food. Prefer to cook? You can bring your own.
- Don’t miss the sand cruisers. They are one of the most memorable parts of the whole stay.
- Stay up for the stars. Plan to be outside after dark. The night sky is a highlight all on its own.
Is Outpost X Weekend Worth It?
