Raised in California and transplanted to Utah. Married my college sweetheart from Montana, and we are raising 4 nuggets together. I love all things DIY projects and doing them on a budget. I don’t mind messing up and am ok with the 90/10 rule - nothing is perfect over here and it’s fine by me! Encouraging all ‘wanna-be’ DIYers to just get out there and try it! You will be so glad you did.”

I like to change up my mantel with each season. I made these shutters very versatile (you can see that blog post here) as well as my interchangeable family portrait (make one here!).
I removed my portrait and added a beautiful fall sign made by my girlfriend Jaesie from Craft Me Up Decor out of Saint George Utah – she is so talented! This one is the 36 by 24 inch sign found here.
For a simple look I added two faux flower bouquets that I made last year. After I stared at it for a day I decided to add a bit more flair to this space.
Let me walk you through my process:
I love these wheat stalks from Floral Treasure that can be found here. She grows, dries, and arranges the flowers – they are real and smell so delightful! Use my code CITYGIRL10 for a discount and free shipping!
I love the look of fabric as a base for my decor. These Buffalo Check Napkins from Returning Grace that you can find here are the cutest!
I cut some round wood coasters from an old tree to add height to my main pieces.
These are bold pieces that attract a lot of attention. You could pick anything you want. I added a turkey, scarecrow and lantern filled with tiny pumpkins from Walmart.
I finished my mantel with pumpkins, faux grass fillers and leaves. These were items I had from previous year and I recycled them.
I rounded up some my favorite fall home decor ideas from Amazon that are really good prices for ya – check these out:
Here are some up close and personal photos of the fall mantel decor I added. As you scroll I hope you get some ideas of ways you can spice up your mantel this season!

Kelly, I love how you layered your decor on your fireplace mantel and shared the step by step process on how you did it! I love that you used fall colors but kept them on the neutral/muted side – it really gives it the feel of fall without being loud or overbearing. So happy to be on this hop with you!
