Raised in California and transplanted to Utah. Married my college sweetheart from Montana, and we are raising 4 nuggets together. I love all things DIY projects and doing them on a budget. I don’t mind messing up and am ok with the 90/10 rule - nothing is perfect over here and it’s fine by me! Encouraging all ‘wanna-be’ DIYers to just get out there and try it! You will be so glad you did.”
After Winter, our garden area was in bad shape. In this blog, I will go over a few things that you can do to make your outdoor space look fresh and beautiful. This post is sponsored by The Home Depot
Adding a fence to your AC Unit will help enhance the appearance of your home. There are other great benefits such as: it helps reduce noise emitted by the machine; it keeps pets and children away from unit; it reduces the amount of dust and grass clipping that get into the unit.
For this project, I will be using an all-in-one stain and sealer by Olympic Maximum in the color Mystic Black. This is the same stain that I used on the privacy fence I built a couple months back.
You can customize the AC fence to your desired height and length. I cut 4 total 4×4 posts and stained them using the Olympic Maximum Stain + Sealant in the color Mystic Black. I then cut the cedar boards to 3.5 ft in length and stained them as well.
After staining the posts and boards, it is time to build the AC fence. Lay on the ground two of the cedar posts and begin attaching the cedar boards. Use 2 screws on each side and leave 1/2 inch gap in between the boards. Repeat this step to build the rest of the fence.
Once the fence is finished, I will attach it to the ground using a rebar technique that I used on one of my Halloween projects. You can learn this technique in HERE
I built these garden boxes three years ago. You can find the tutorial on how to build these garden boxes in HERE. Staining the boards is an important step to preserve the wood and protect it from the elements. I will be using the same Olympic Maximum Stain + Sealant in the color Espresso. I used a paint brush to apply the stain.
Now that the AC fence is built and the garden boxes are stained, it is time to add some finishing touches. I added vegetables to the garden boxes, I installed garden planters on the fence, I bought a garden station to store all of my garden supplies and finally added some furniture in the back.
I love the way these sealed garden boxes look and how neat and fresh our garden area looks. These are a few things that you can do to spruce up your outdoor space.
Love,
