Nature lovers, this one’s for you! The Ho’omaluhia Botanical Gardens offer stunning views and lush landscapes that look like they’re straight out of a postcard. Don’t forget to bring food to feed the fish in the lake—it’s a fun and peaceful experience.
A visit to Pearl Harbor is a must to honor history and learn about the events of World War II. Be sure to check out the USS Arizona Memorial—if tickets are sold out online, you can try waiting in line like we did.
You can’t visit Oahu without spending time at its world-famous beaches! Sunset Beach is perfect for an evening stroll, while Sharks Cove is amazing for snorkeling and spotting marine life.
For a fresh, farm-to-table meal, Kahuku Farms is the place to go! They serve delicious, homegrown food, and the setting is absolutely beautiful. Just note that they’re closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
Take a scenic walk across the Rainbow Bridge in Haleiwa, where you can watch locals jump into the water below. Feeling adventurous? Take the plunge yourself!
Rent a paddleboard and cruise up the Anahulu River—it’s an incredible way to experience Oahu from the water. Plus, you’ll likely spot sea turtles swimming alongside you!
For classic Hawaiian surf vibes, stop by Surf N Sea in Haleiwa. While you’re there, pick up a pair of Rainbow Sandals—they’re a family favorite for a reason!
For an amazing Thai meal, head to Rajanee Thai in Haleiwa. Their food is delicious, and reservations are recommended because it fills up fast!
Step into a slice of Japan at the Byodo-In Temple, a peaceful and stunning replica of the original in Kyoto. Be sure to buy fish food—the birds and koi will love you for it!
If you’re curious about student life in Hawaii, take a tour of BYU Hawaii and grab a meal at their cafeteria. The food is great, and it’s a fun way to experience the local college atmosphere.
Take a stop at Gunstock Ranch, right off the main highway, and bring some carrots to feed the beautiful horses. It’s a simple but fun experience, especially if you love animals.
End your trip with a visit to the stunning Laie Temple Visitors Center (which is free!) and the Polynesian Cultural Center (where you’ll need tickets – we recommend the VIP one and the amazing dinner!).
