Raised in California and transplanted to Utah. Married my college sweetheart from Montana, and we are raising 4 nuggets together. I love all things DIY projects and doing them on a budget. I don’t mind messing up and am ok with the 90/10 rule - nothing is perfect over here and it’s fine by me! Encouraging all ‘wanna-be’ DIYers to just get out there and try it! You will be so glad you did.”
My front porch was ready for a refresh this year and I shopped at one of my favorite stores, RC Willey, for the furniture. I have been shopping at RC Willey for over 20 years, can you tell I just love them? They have so many ideas in their store and on their website for all of us aspiring home decorators.  If you do not have one near you, check for delivery options online.Â

To start off, I figured out what I wanted in this space and drew it out in digital format.  I use an app called Pic Collage for this.Â
I knew what my budget was and I set out to shop their store for ideas. The entire shop is like home decor eye candy and I love it. Additionally I browsed their website for more ideas. Here is how what I was looking for:
My first step was to figure out what furniture would fit into this space AND into my budget. I was wanting a wicker set that could handle the weather elements in Utah. I chose lighter fabric and a darker wicker stain. The set that worked best for me was called Palm Harbor Sand and Brown 3 piece Wicker Furniture Set found here.Â
In addition to couches, I wanted a coffee table to rest our feet on (luckily it came in the set), and a side table to rest our drinks on. When you are shopping for furniture and you are trying to find the matching pieces, scroll down to the bottom of the page on the website and it will usually have links for you to follow. I found this Palm Harbor Wicker Coffee Table for a great deal here.Â
Â
They next step for me was to add some color with my pillows. I like to change these out with the seasons and holidays, so a bright pop of blue was perfect for summer. The Kinley Navy Indoor-Outdoor for $20 was perfect, I snagged 4 of there here.Â
Rugs can add a lot of character to your front porch. Since I keep the inside of my home pretty neutral, I knew I wanted to go with a big look for the front porch. I picked up a 4 foot by 6 foot rug called Finesse Striped Navy Indoor-Outdoor Rug found here.Â
RC Willey sells some amazing greenery, inside the store and online. I built wood wall vases last year so I could change out the greenery as I wanted; you can find the tutorial in HERE. For summer, I chose some darling cotton stems to fill the vases; and they were only $10.
Additionally, I wanted faux flowers for the side table that the wind wouldn’t blow over. I found a glass jar of 25 inch dogwood stems filled with rocks and faux water found here. It was perfect!Â
I love the look of a fire glow, but a fire pit was not an option for this space. So I opted for a few candlesticks to have on the coffee table.  RC Willey carries a heavy duty one made out of stone, and I knew it could handle the crazy weather we get here in Utah and not blow away. You can find it here.
I also snagged a yummy candle from the Magnolia Home Furniture line sold there called Restore – it smells so good! You can find it here.Â
Once all of my packages arrived, I was able to start setting it up. You have to put the furniture together and it is super easy. It includes all the tools you need as well – it is like a DIY kit my friends! I love how it all came together.Â

If you are looking to update your front porch this summer, think of these 5 steps to walk you through the process: Furniture, Pillows, Rugs, Greenery, and Candlesticks. Mix and match however you would like! Remember that you do not have to be a professional to decorate. It is your home, so do what works for YOU.
