Raised in California and transplanted to Utah. Married my college sweetheart from Montana, and we are raising 4 nuggets together. I love all things DIY projects and doing them on a budget. I don’t mind messing up and am ok with the 90/10 rule - nothing is perfect over here and it’s fine by me! Encouraging all ‘wanna-be’ DIYers to just get out there and try it! Painting your bedroom walls doesn’t have to be a long drawn out process. Can you believe you can get it all done in just an afternoon? I am partnering with BEHR® Paint to show you their new 2022 Color of the Year – Breezeway. It can be found in the BEHR® 2022 Color Trends Palette at The Home Depot.
We love being in our master bedroom and were ready for a refreshing update. I wanted a relaxing and calming color that made a statement from the simple white we had used before.
As I prepared to paint my master bedroom board and batten wall, I needed a few things from the paint I used to help the process go quicker. I wanted a one coat paint that was fast drying. The BEHR DYNASTYâ„¢ Interior Paint has these features so I knew it was perfect for the job.
Here is the supply list you will need:
Make sure you cover and protect any areas that could get paint on them. No matter how careful you are, something always seems to drip. Use your tape to attach the plastic to the wall to ensure it doesn’t pull away.
The reason BEHR DYNASTYâ„¢ Interior Paint is such a great product for this type of update is because it has *quick drying and one coat features. Additionally it has advanced stain repellency and scuff resistant attributes that are perfect for interior paint. All of these things made it easy to get prepped, painted and dried in one afternoon.
It comes with a pour spout that makes the job less messy. I had never used a pour spout before and now I am hooked.
Stir the paint well with a paint stick and pour into your tray.
Since I was repainting a board and batten wall, I decided to work panel by panel, doing the edges first and then filling in the centers.
I used a brush to paint one panel of edges, then used a small roller to quickly go over the panel in paint, so no lines would dry from the paint brush. This process worked well for me.
This wall is about 7 feet by 13 feet long and only took me about 90 minutes from start to finish. It was such a quick process and only one coat was required. You can add a second coat when it is dry if you want a deeper look.
Later that evening I was able to add some decorations and move all the furniture back. I absolutely love how it turned out and how quick the process was!
If you are looking to paint your bedroom in just an afternoon, for sure try the BEHR DYNASTYâ„¢ Interior Paint. I recommend the BEHR® 2022 Color of the Year – Breezeway. It is subtle and serene and I love how it transformed our master bedroom!
