Raised in California and transplanted to Utah. Married my college sweetheart from Montana, and we are raising 4 nuggets together. I love all things DIY projects and doing them on a budget. I don’t mind messing up and am ok with the 90/10 rule - nothing is perfect over here and it’s fine by me! Encouraging all ‘wanna-be’ DIYers to just get out there and try it! You will be so glad you did.”
Every spring I start giving my kitchen a refresh. After long winters in Utah, I need it and so does my kitchen! Recently, I’ve been focusing on my pantry and refrigerator. It’s a quick and easy task, and I can’t wait to show you this simple kitchen organization project in hopes of inspiring you to do the same!
Many of you know I built an entire room into a pantry that you can read about here. But now my kitchen closet (aka pantry) needed some love. I found the coolest company on Amazon called Mdesign to share with you and I am so excited to be collaborating with them! They have to greatest solutions for storage with quality product (that ships in 2 days with Amazon Prime – yippee!).
First things first – let me show the hot mess I was dealing with:
This space has 6 shelves (one is up super high) that are 16 inches deep and 14 inches apart. It is not the best use of space so I needed some pieces that would help me stay organized.
I discovered MDesign online and fell in love with all the choices they had for getting organized. I will not confirm or deny that I spent a long time on their Amazon store day dreaming! Once I finally figured out what I needed I was so giddy to get this space cleaned up. To get an idea of what you need for your pantry, try out these steps:
Here are the pieces I grabbed for my mini pantry:
This turning plastic bin is perfect for my condiments.
I love the open front of this basket for easy access to food.
These are stackable and come in different sizes.
They have so many different lengths of this one, and I choose the 16 inches deep and 6 inches wide.
Since these are all available on Prime shipping, I received them super quick and was ready to go. Here are the steps I went through during my organizing:
It just took me an hour or so to do this since the pantry is quit small. I ended up getting rid of a ton of food that we were not eating. I decided to keep the pantry as simple as possible.
Here is my end result:
I was so excited about how it turned out. It is refreshing to open the door each time and see it so clean!
I also worked on the refrigerator and used the same format for this process. They have amazing plastic bins for the fridge and I love them. Look how much better this looks with organized shelving and a few lights turned on!
I grabbed two types of pieces for this space:
I am feeling so ready for spring with my kitchen all in order. I hope you have a moment to organize your space and get ready for spring and summer memories too. Happy organizing, friends!
