Raised in California and transplanted to Utah. Married my college sweetheart from Montana, and we are raising 4 nuggets together. I love all things DIY projects and doing them on a budget. I don’t mind messing up and am ok with the 90/10 rule - nothing is perfect over here and it’s fine by me! Encouraging all ‘wanna-be’ DIYers to just get out there and try it! You will be so glad you did.”
Ever want to hang a wall vase but didn’t want to add holes into your wall? I am collaborating with Old Barn Milk Paint to bring you a super easy DIY that requires NO DRILLING – yah! This one is so easy, and then you add the One Step Stain by Old Barn Milk Paint and you are done in NO TIME!
Check out this 60 second video tutorial on how to make the wall vase, and then follow along or pin for later!
You will cut 4 pieces of wood with your circular saw.  You can make up any measurements you would like to fit your space. For my wall I needed:
I like to sand down my sides before gluing together. I just used 80 grit.
Add small amounts of wood glue to the edges of your end pieces. Then you will clamp them down in place and let dry all the way.
I didn’t have a clamp for the top area so I weighted it down with a charger and heavy plates.
I am so in love with this Weathered One Step Stain by Old Barn Milk Paint. It has no oder, drys fast and is GORGEOUS. You can grab a can here. Stir as directed and then add a light coat with your brush. They recommend a light sand to scuff up the wood and I didn’t do it for one side and wish I would have. It would have stuck so much better.
Gently wipe off the stain with a rag, and I always wear gloves for this part too. Follow drying directions and then stain again if needed.
You can add a top coat if you would like. Then you will add 3M strips to the back and hang to the wall.
All finished! Let me know if you have any questions!
