Raised in California and transplanted to Utah. Married my college sweetheart from Montana, and we are raising 4 nuggets together. I love all things DIY projects and doing them on a budget. I don’t mind messing up and am ok with the 90/10 rule - nothing is perfect over here and it’s fine by me! Encouraging all ‘wanna-be’ DIYers to just get out there and try it! You will be so glad you did.”
I am so excited to be participating again this spring in the One Room Challenge as a guest participant. Last year I renovated my living room and you can see that post here. This year I am working on my Laundry Room in partnership with Kirkland’s and I am so excited! Make sure to head over to the One Room Challenge Blog to see all the participants this year – you are going to see some amazing work!
Each week I will be adding different elements to this tiny laundry and creating a more functional space for my family. I will be including the DIY tutorials as I go, so come join me! Some projects will be large and some will be small, but here is a look into what I am working with.
I need to create usable hampers over the vent in this small corner. I have some fun ideas in mind.
We hang dry a lot of our clothes and right now that happens on the living room couch. Adding drying racks to the right wall will really help in this aspect.
The back wall will be enhanced by peel and stick wallpaper. Then I will add floating shelves to create more storage space. Note: You can read this tutorial here.
I currently fold laundry on my bed so now it’s time to add a folding counter on top of the washer and dryer – I need my room back! Note: You can read this tutorial here.
On the left wall I will add a space to hang the ironing board behind the door.
I have always wanted a wood ceiling and this is the perfect time to try it out. I will be using Peel and Stick wood strips from Wallplanks – they are amazing! Note: You can read this tutorial here.
Finally I will be adding a storage shelf above the door, where all my extra items will be moved out of site!
I can’t wait to start this renovation, it is going to create so much more needed space for my family in this laundry room!
Love,
Kelly
Note: The Laundry Room is COMPLETE! Here is a sneak peak at the finished product that you can read about on the reveal post here.
