Raised in California and transplanted to Utah. Married my college sweetheart from Montana, and we are raising 4 nuggets together. I love all things DIY projects and doing them on a budget. I don’t mind messing up and am ok with the 90/10 rule - nothing is perfect over here and it’s fine by me! Encouraging all ‘wanna-be’ DIYers to just get out there and try it! You will be so glad you did.”
Ready to make a super easy cake plate for the holidays? Or even just for a fun display decoration? Making your own cake plate stand is so simple and inexpensive – check out my 60 second video tutorial here and then pin it for later when your ready to make yours!
I snagged my plates and candlesticks from a local thrift stop because they are unique and cheap. Remove the stickers and clean well. Make sure the inside of the candlestick is completely dry so moisture will not set in.Â
Simply turn your plate over and place a small about of glue on the top of the candlestick. Press down gently into the middle of your plate. Remove excess with your finger and then wipe off your finger with a paper towel.Â
I like to spin mine to make sure it’s centered.
There you have it! Your very own inexpensive Cake Stand Plate. You can use these for gifts, decorating, and of course – cakes!Â
Want to see a few more projects using just glue? Check out my Wood Tray Tutorial here and my Wood Charger Tutorial here. These are easy projects that are great for beginner DIYers, but also good quick ones for experienced DIYers. The tray and the chargers are so versatile and I used them all the time!
