Raised in California and transplanted to Utah. Married my college sweetheart from Montana, and we are raising 4 nuggets together. I love all things DIY projects and doing them on a budget. I don’t mind messing up and am ok with the 90/10 rule - nothing is perfect over here and it’s fine by me! Encouraging all ‘wanna-be’ DIYers to just get out there and try it! You will be so glad you did.”
This year I am partnering with some amazing interior designers to showcase simple christmas tree decorating ideas that anyone can do. There are different ways to decorate your christmas tree for the holidays and we are sharing them all. You will love all these ideas!
My post is sponsored by Decorator’s Warehouse (the coolest online shop for holiday decorations). Their team challenged each of us to their “Home for the Holidays Christmas Tree Challenge” and of course I accepted! Additionally they gave me the code CITYGIRLMEETSFARMBOY for 10% purchases (you all can use it!!).
The Decorator’s Warehouse website is really easy to navigate and breaks down the holiday decor into sections and collections. I picked my pieces from their Winter Woodland Collection.
Here is a simple to follow guide for decorating your christmas tree this holiday season!
I like to get organized before I get started, it helps me create a plan. It is hard to remember from year to year what you have, so setting out all of your pieces is a great way to assess and get started.
Below is a list of pieces that I am using for my 7.5 foot tree from Decorator’s Warehouse as well as individual links to what I am using. If you want to see my entire collection at once tap here.
I always turn on my lights and see if they are working and ready to go before I decorate the tree. You don’t want to finish the tree and realize a section of lights isn’t lit!
I start off with my largest statement pieces first. Additionally I work with odd sets of numbers for balance. The above pieces are in the supply list above.
Next I fill the tree with medium sized ball ornaments for filler.
Adding stems and sprays to your christmas tree will really give it character and fullness. You can add as many or as little as you prefer. I also added other decor elements like wood sticks during this step.
Ribbon is a perfect addition to your tree and you can watch this tutorial on different ways to add it, before, during, and after your decorating process.
Now my tree is all up and ready to go – what do you think? Here is some additional photos of the final look!
I also added some of the same pieces to my mantel for a cohesive look:
I hope you enjoyed this christmas tree challenge and decor tutorial today! Make sure to check out Decorator’s Warehouse and all their beautiful decoration pieces for your home. Don’t forget to visit each of my friends pages for more inspiration!

Hello. This is so beautiful! I love everything but I think I’m a little obsessed with the tan pillow you have on your chair behind the Christmas pillow. I have been looking for something just like this. Any chance you could share where you got it?
Forever grateful,
Racheal
Isnt it so cute!?!?! It was made by a gal from a boutique I found. I havent used it in so long, are you interested in it? I am happy to sell it to you!
