Raised in California and transplanted to Utah. Married my college sweetheart from Montana, and we are raising 4 nuggets together. I love all things DIY projects and doing them on a budget. I don’t mind messing up and am ok with the 90/10 rule - nothing is perfect over here and it’s fine by me! Encouraging all ‘wanna-be’ DIYers to just get out there and try it! You will be so glad you did.”
Our pantry is the size of a closet, so I struggle to get the maximized space out of these shelf units. Bed Bath and Beyond challenged me to find products that would help with this issue. I am sharing how to organize a small pantry using some compact items from this amazing store!
This was the current state of the pantry. One. Hot. Mess. I was shoving all I could into the space and just hoped the door would stay closed! Can you see the difference after this project?
If you are not quite ready to to organize your pantry today, pin this blog post for later so you can refer back to it when you start.
I took some time to analyze the pantry and think about what I wanted to have happen.
I also measured all the shelves to know what sizes I was dealing with. This really helped when I start shopping on the Bed Bath and Beyond website. I found pieces that fit the size of my shelving perfectly.
I sat on the Bed Bath and Beyond website for a few hours, searching all the possibilities from what they had. And they have a lot. Honestly there are so many options and endless ideas to help you get organized.
There are always sales and coupons available – keep an eye out for those. These are the things I grabbed:
Next up I clean out the pantry, wipe down shelves, and throw out food we are not using. It is amazing what can get stored in there!
All my boxes arrived from Bed Bath and Beyond and the products were VERY easy to put together.
This is the funnest part! I added the large cabinets to the bottom of the pantry to story my potatoes and heavier goods. Then I used the sliding cabinets in the middle shelves and they added so much more storage space for me. Yah!
Finally I put added the baskets where I had “piles” of things that needed a home. I can not believe how much space was created using these products from Bed Bath and Beyond.
You can see such a difference with this side by side photo:
Isn’t that amazing? I feel like I need to go shopping for more food since I have all this extra space! Here is a link to all the products I used for this project:
This was such a great way for me to appreciate the small pantry that I have. I am so excited each time I open the door. Small pantry problems are over!
