Raised in California and transplanted to Utah. Married my college sweetheart from Montana, and we are raising 4 nuggets together. I love all things DIY projects and doing them on a budget. I don’t mind messing up and am ok with the 90/10 rule - nothing is perfect over here and it’s fine by me! Encouraging all ‘wanna-be’ DIYers to just get out there and try it! You will be so glad you did.”
My kids were ready to change up the hot pink bathroom and I jumped at the chance to try some new things. After a few months, the little girls bathroom was now a beautiful farmhouse style guest bath. Here is what I had to work with:

I decided to tackle to project in waves. This was my plan:
Thank you to the many sponsors who helped bring this bathroom to life! MirrorMate, RoommatesDecor, DlawlessHardware, Furniture Pipeline, Lighting Design and Teal Barn Signs are amazing!
Adding a frame to the bathroom mirror (click to learn more) was a no brainer. I knew I could build a mirror frame for the vanity, but I had seen these pre-made frames from MirrorMate that I wanted to try out. The process is super easy and on their website they walk you step by step on how to order the right sized custom frame for your space. I picked the Cherokee Barnwood frame. You can watch to time lapse video here on IG.
The installation just took minutes and immediately the bathroom looked upgraded!
I love the look shiplap gives to a space. A while back, I had seen some super cool peel and stick wallpaper that looked so close to shiplap that I had to try it. It came from Roommates Decor. We decided to try it VERTICALLY instead of the normal horizontal way. Never tried peel and stick wallpaper before? Check out my posts here and here to see more tutorials on it.
It is so much easier with two people, so try to grab a friend who can pull the back off while you mount the paper! My mom is my go to gal when I need a wallpaper buddy!
The knobs we had were getting old and weathered and I found some cute black and white ones from DLawless Hardware. The long pulls are the Betsy Fields Pull found here and are only $1.75 a piece. The round knobs are the Betsy Fields Black Pedal Cupboard Knob found here and are only $1.00 a piece. I love this company because they have tons of selection and super good prices.
I envisioned open shelving above the toilet and found exactly what I wanted at Furniture Pipeline. In the past, I had built my shelves myself but I found these prices to be very comparable to what I would need to spend to buy the pipe. They are a heavier unit and I wrote a post about installing them here.
This one is called the JUNEAU FARMHOUSE INDUSTRIAL TIERED SHELF RACK. The wood is Paulownia and sourced from sustainable farms. It is super light and warp resistant. They also plant trees for each product you buy – yah!
I added a very simple towel rack made of a primed 1×4 board and some hooks. You can watch the video here on Instagram. The process is super simple and I added this same towel rack to the master bathroom here. The farmhouse hooks were from Amazon here.
We have a local lighting company in Utah called Lighting Design that was started by a mother and daughter team. I went into visit with them and they helped me pick out the best light for this space. It has 5 lights and we used bright white Edison bulbs from Amazon.
This light is the 5 Light Vanity from the Mariner Collection from Z-lite. It puts off a lot of good light as long as you upgrade to the Bright White bulbs.
I had my eye on these signs from Teal Barn Signs Co for some time. They have the cutest stuff in their Etsy shop. This bathroom set was absolutely perfect for this space! Soap and Water is found here and Flush and Wash is found here.
When choosing a new fun toilet seat, I used a toilet with a beadboard lid. There was a similar toilet in my last house and I loved the style. Also, I purchased a cute curtain from Amazon as well as some organization items from MDesign.
I absolutely loved the way the bathroom turned out. With minimal over haul and mostly decorative pieces to completely turn this space around. I am adding all the LikeItToKnowIt links for you to shop this post as well!
Thanks for being here and I hope this gave you some fun ideas for you bathroom design!
