Raised in California and transplanted to Utah. Married my college sweetheart from Montana, and we are raising 4 nuggets together. I love all things DIY projects and doing them on a budget. I don’t mind messing up and am ok with the 90/10 rule - nothing is perfect over here and it’s fine by me! Encouraging all ‘wanna-be’ DIYers to just get out there and try it! You will be so glad you did.”
Boho Style Decor has become extremely popular over the last few years. It encompasses a relaxed aesthetic full of patterns, texture and colors. I am partnering with Boutique Rugs to share how I created a Boho Style Bedroom in just a few steps. Use my code CITYGIRL60 for a huge discount at their online shop!
This is a style I have wanted to try for some time and decided to try my hand at it on my master bedroom.
Guess what?
I absolutely loved how it turned out.
Want to understand more about this fun style? Here is a great article to read from DECORILLA to learn more about Boho decorating.
My master bedroom has been redone a few times and was currently a simple farmhouse style. You can read the Board and Batten Tutorial here, and see how I used Country Chic chalk paint on the headboard here.
I decided I would only do a decoration overhaul, no big projects this time. To accomplish the look I wanted, I broke it down into these steps:
I added botanical prints from The Little Bird that worked perfectly for this space. Grab those here. You can also see a different style I tried for the bedroom as well in this photo.
I love shopping at Boutique Rugs and seeing all their fun decor. They ship fast, have tons of choices and have great prices. Use my code CITYGIRL60 for an even better discount!
I scrolled all afternoon and settled on the Romeoville Rug in the large 8 by 10 size. It was a great starting point.
Here I changed up the headboard, the bedding and the pillows. Just took an afternoon and wasn’t a huge financial investment. The bed is from Brookside Home Designs and they have tons to choose from.
I found a few more beds that are similar to this one for you to check out:
I changed up the bedding to a simple white and then added a few pillows from the Boutique Rugs Home Decor line. They are beautiful and well made.
The bench at the base of our bed is always a must. There is a chunk of great options on the website. I grabbed the blue Biggsville bench found here.
I absolutely love how this Boho style bedroom turned out. It became a completely new room with very some very small changes. Make sure to use my code CITYGIRL60 for a 60% off discount when shopping at Boutique Rugs!

The area rug beneath the bed should be a little larger so the bedside tables fit on the rug, as it looks like you could’nt afford the next size up!
