Organizing Your Kitchen Is Easy!
In this post i am using affiliate links to my amazon store. I am so excited to be partnering with Mdesign to bring you some exciting organizational products that i love using in my home!
Every spring I start giving my kitchen a refresh. After a long winter in Utah, I need it and so does my kitchen! This past month I updated my pantry and refridgerator. It was quick and easy, and I can’t wait to show you.
Many of you know I built an entire room into a pantry that you can read about here. But now my kitchen closet (aka pantry) needed some love. I found the coolest company on Amazon called Mdesign to share with you and I am so excited to be collaborating with them! They have to greatest solutions for storage with quality product (that ships in 2 days with Amazon Prime – yippee!).
First things first – let me show the hot mess I was dealing with:
This space has 6 shelves (one is up super high) that are 16 inches deep and 14 inches apart. It is not the best use of space so I needed some pieces that would help me stay organized.
I discovered MDesign online and fell in love with all the choices they had for getting organized. I will not confirm or deny that I spent a long time on their Amazon store day dreaming! Once I finally figured out what I needed I was so giddy to get this space cleaned up. To get an idea of what you need for your pantry, try out these steps:
1. Assess the food you use most frequently
2. Measure the sizes of each cupboard
3. Determine which groupings you can create (food categories)
Here are the pieces I grabbed for my mini pantry:
This turning plastic bin is perfect for my condiments.
I love the open front of this basket for easy access to food.
These are stackable and come in different sizes.
They have so many different lengths of this one, and I choose the 16 inch deep and 6 inches wide.
Since these are all available on Prime shipping, I received them super quick and was ready to go. Here are the steps I went through during my organizing:
1. Pulled out all of the food from the pantry
2. Cleaned all the cupboards down
3. Threw out all the expired or unneeded food
4. assorted the food into the bins I had originally planned
5. restocked the pantry
It just took me an hour or so to do this since the pantry is quit small. I ended up getting rid of a ton of food that we were not eating. I decided to keep the pantry as simple as possible.
Here is my end result:
I was so excited about how it turned out. It is refreshing to open the door each time and see it so clean!
I also worked on the refrigerator and used the same format for this process. They have amazing plastic bins for the fridge and I love them. Look how much better this looks with organized shelving and a few lights turned on!
I grabbed two types of pieces for this space:
I am feeling so ready for summer with my kitchen all in order. I hope you have a moment to organize your space and get ready for summer memories too. Happy organizing!
